The Street Loch Lomond. – Project Involving A Zip System
Challenged with a glazed roof light 36 metres wide with a 3 metre length. The roof light follows the curve of the building and snakes the full length creating an S shape.
The brief was to kill the glare from the sun which affects the work space throughout the day and to reduce the heat gain. The blind would have to respond automatically and promptly to the changing weather conditions as well as having a manual over ride control. In addition, in the winter using the blinds to prevent heat loss through the roof light.
Using a system of radio controlled motors, cutting down on the electrical work required and again using external radio sun sensors, thus avoiding and damage to the fabric of the building we achieved a remarkable result. Controlling solar glare and heat in the summer and holding and controlling the temperature within the office in the winter, which gives the client 100 percent satisfaction.
